  • My name is Austin Lewis. I am Cathy Lewis youngest son. I’ve been going to this church for 30yrs.

I am writing this because of all the stuff that is going on with MY Pastor. I want to show You how important MY Pastor is.

I remember when I was a little boy and I would watch Little House On The Pirie. I
Remember the scenes when they would all go to Church as a family. I remember when the females would where their hair bonnets and the men would were the spandex. That was Our church. Besides the hair bonnets and the spandex. We were a close Church. We were a family!

Let me give You a perfect example: When we were little we got kicked out of our apartment. We lived in a park for over a year. I remember this like it was yesterday. Even though we lived over 60 miles and didn’t have a home to go to, We would still go to First Baptist Church Of Garden Grove. I remember when it was Christmas. We couldn’t even afford clothes on Our backs and toys. My mom and dad received a note from the Church to go to the Library. There and the Library was bags of clothes and toys! It was Christmas!

I remember when Pastor Carmen retired, because when he retired my oldest brother asked Pastor Carmen “ You are going to retarded now “ The whole Churched laughed.

I remember when Pastor Carmen told the Church that we have a new Pastor and his name is Pastor Dr. Wade Whitcomb. I looked at him and stated “ Man he is young, he doesn’t look like the old guys in that picture!” I remember when Pastor Carmen said that he is going to be a good Pastor and don’t worry. Pastor Carmen passed the flame to Pastor Wade Whitecomb . So even though, Pastor Wade wasn’t in those old picture he is now! This is Pastor Wade Church and nobody should take the old memories away. He is the Ancestors to this Church.

Pastor Wade baptized many of us. He was there when I needed him. He married me and my wife 15yrs ago. He was there when he made a baby dedication to my son, He was there when my Grandparents passed away. He was there when my family needed a Pastor to talk to. He was there when my parents renewed there vows. He was there when You needed him. He was there for our laughs and cries, WE were there when he needed US “ Church “.

Pastor also dedicates his time to the Garden Grove Police Department as a Chaplin. How many of those came back to our Church and thanked him and stayed at our Church because of that. How many of those have he saved or dedicated his time to talk to the families and talked about Garden Grove Baptist Church. I call that DEDICATION to Garden Grove Baptist Church. I think he has resembled Pastor Carmen and our Ancestors to this Church real well. I bet if Pastor Carmen came back he would fight for Pastor Wade because he knows he is doing a good job for this Church.

Even though Pastor Wade was the new Pastor for this Church, he could of changed this Church all around and made it to what he wants it to be. He instead left it the same way when the first Pastor has “ Retarded “ This Church is the same since our ansisters has been here and it should be left the same way! And I think Pastor Wade should retire at this Church just like Pastor Carmen did. Pastor Wade is the foundation to this Church! I promise you if this Church changes to another congregation and new Pastor. I will take it to the Orange County Register News Paper and the Orange County News department.

Thanks for Your time, Austin Lewis.

  • Wonderful Church! Pastor Wade is amazing in proclaiming the true Gospel every time he teaches. Great Sermons and simply great congregation. We just joined this church not too long ago and both my fiance and me are really blessed to be part of this church
